About Dave
From a field of 150 comedians, Dave Rattigan “passed” at Boston’s famed Comedy Connection on just his 15th time of stage, and has been a fixture on the Boston scene for two-and-a-half decades since then.
His CD has been played on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, as well as AM/FM stations across the country and as far away as Ireland.
He performed multiple times on the syndicated Steve Katsos Show and has performed in commercials for Olympia Sports and iParty that have played on New England regional TV stations. He’s performed in Dublin and Kilkenny, Ireland as well as at the Hampton Beach Comedy Festival (NH), Boston Comedy Festival, Women in Comedy Festival, and Salem Comedy and Spirits Festival.
In 2005, after the birth of his daughter, he founded Scamps Comedy Productions as an alternative to going on the road. It would become a small boutique production company that booked, produced and marketed fund-raisers, and private and public shows in Massachusetts and New England.

Since then, Scamps Comedy has helped charities and non-profits raise more than $2 million
At times, he’s just provided the talent, but at others he’s planned, produced, marketing, and provided guidance, auctioneers, masters of ceremonies, and excellent comedy for professional organizations and mom-and-pops like sports teams, churches, music programs, playground projects, cancer runs, and more.
One Scamps’ specialty is working with organizations producing fund-raisers, and another is putting shows into places that normally don’t do comedy. Over the years, Dave has performed at Fenway Park, The Cape Cod Melody Tent, South Shore Music Circus, small theaters, minor league ballparks, a lumberyard, the lobby of an ad agency, a library, the dock in a boatyard, boats, an old aged-home, campsites, a wedding (never again!) and several parking lots.
Scamps now produces shows at every level of comedy, from theaters and festivals to fundraisers and “club shows” for Elks, Moose and yacht clubs. With Jimmy Dunn, it runs the prestigious Hampton Beach Comedy Festival every year, and several long-running 300-plus person comedy fundraisers. It runs theater shows at places like the Cotuit Center for the Arts and the Mass Arts Center in Mansfield, MA. It runs a weekly Saturday night show at Murphy’s Taproom in Manchester, NH and a Tuesday open mic at The Winner’s Circle in Salisbury, MA for comedians to practice. It also runs every type of show in between.
Dave’s daughter is now a senior in high school looking at colleges for her future. Dave finished his college degree and got a masters degree and now teaches at area colleges. He is still telling jokes, and Scamps is going strong.
